As petrol prices head towards $2 a litre, Australian motorists look to be facing a grim future. While no one knows exactly what the future holds, the possible scenarios facing Australian motorists are explored in a new report by the CSIRO’s Energy Transformed Flagship.
The scenarios explored include:
• The impact of emissions trading
• How quickly new fuels and technologies could be deployed
• The international oil supply
Fuel for thought –The future of transport: challenges and opportunities is the culmination of the Fuel Futures Forum. The forum, convened by CSIRO’s Energy Transformed Flagship, has brought together scientists and representatives from the community, industry and government to develop a range of scenarios for the future of transport fuels in Australia.
